After emigrating from Malaysia in 1989, Seline and Des Chong initially opened a small Chinese restaurant in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. In order to be closer to family, they decided in 1996 to relocate to Fredericton, New Brunswick and that’s when Chong’s Place was officially established. The Chinese restaurant was at first situated in the Fredericton Mall, then moved to the Brookside Mall, and have been operating there for the last 25+ years.
